40 things about me you might not know - Entrepreneur Generations

1. Everybody on the outside seen me running in shorts for the last few years, focused to get some results. Here's some of the things that I never shared.

2. I did a photography course, took lots of training in other areas for upcoming events I wasn't even invited to yet & was also writing for a magazine group too. These were all for free and as preparation for the future I kept saying to myself. Doing free work is where I've learned mostly as I visualise a lot.

3. I passed a counselling course and also took an open psychology course also, long before everything else now.

4. Visited Buddhist temples, learned meditation and travelled all over Scotland, mainly alone but sometimes with friends. A happy hermit as the monks called it, just being happy in myself as I spent a lot of my life around noise. That's going back 5 years now.

5. I was interacting and interviewing people also wherever I was & studying everything too.

6. I map out things and there's so much learning that people will never see, I'm an introvert too and always have been funny enough (used to be the loudest growing up, there was a reason for that).

7. I don't socialise with the alcohol surroundings as I just feel free to do whatever I want now. I do like networking though, from seminars, speeches and just lots of learning.

8. I value time, if I'm at a movie or any place that I don't like for example then I don't stay. If I'm not being mentally pushed forward in life then I stand up & leave.

7. I was the loudest and most outgoing person in the crowded environments which led me to the greatest discoveries in my life. I read the books in solitary that I now feel was all preparation for me to live the life that I do now.

8. I learn and adapt faster than anyone I've ever known.  I always have role models so always learning. I stay grounded with strong my strong values that came to me later in life, I never had any growing up (street life).

9. My values are very simple. When I meditate or read my mind comes back with a better version of itself and when I run or eat food then my body comes back with a better version of itself, so the return of investment in health always brings internal reward.

11. Success to me is waking up with the sunrise and then counting the stars at night in a state of fulfilment, with a deep peace and contentment it's the journey through life. Impact is effecting a positive example in the life and world around us, happiness to me is breathing and having an opportunity to live and give and wealth is the numbers of finance which is up to the individual to study as all prices of lifestyle vary.

12. I wanted to put a message out saying if I can do it then we all can, but I've had lots of help. Don't ever think for one second that I've not.

13. I attended all the classes, walked out of some along the way as I've failed more times than you can ever imagine but to return with this investment in a high performance attitude to life from it all is priceless. You can't buy experience :)

14. I eat fruit & vegetables, my food has no price tag so that sets the standard for everything else in my life, being vegan is part of my spiritual journey and I believe it's great for mental awareness as our body consumes 20% of our calories.

15. When people ask what I do for a living I reply with I add value to people's life's, then depending on the person I'll base the conversation around that. I do many things and never want to attach to any one label.

16. The only reason I've singled out vegan is to socially show an example of health for the animals.

17. At first I thought I was doing things for significance, but deeply I just want to keep giving. I've got everything and more, the life experiences and the people, books and inspiration that keep coming into my life make me rich.

18. I would say I'm a better student than a teacher as I learn most of the day.

19. I stay away from small chat and expand as a person in solitude instead, but a conversation over a cup of tea or during a long run is what I love.

20. People in my life are private, they all have many friends and a social life but I'm the only one who's all out there sharing life in this way. They all know why I do it, they support me and they have taught me.

21. I love watching people do what they love, I prefer being thanked in private than I do in public. It means more to me, because in the old lifestyle I had it was all about the public party's with no real communication.

22. I focused on fruit and ultra running with the story of my past to show that anyone could change, I wanted to inspire others to see that they can too & that was the goal.

23. I've gave up a lot in life, I've lost a lot of people in my life through death and to illness, more people in numbers than my age. Glasgow is a tough place, and you don't need me to tell you that. (Sure it's on Google)

24. I've had many girlfriends, many relationships, many friendships that I'm grateful for as it's all been the building blocks needed to mould me into this character I share with others today.

25. My 3 favourite films are the hurricane, shawshank redemption and Forrest Gump.

26. My 3 favourite books are ten men dead, the damage done, and now think and grow rich.

27.  Buddhist monks helped me give up my idea of a personal life and other pleasures to share more compassion to the world around me. I took that vow for the animals, went vegetarian then vegan.

28. My life change never had a switch moment like its portrayed in quick stories, I believe all of our life's happen over a series of events. I've been lucky enough to have so much events at a rapid speed that I can slow down now and add value to others.

29. I've been to around 18 different countries, and although I love them all none have come close to the love that I have for Scotland. The log fire, the countryside, the freedom of all the education and history here. I don't class myself as a patriot though, I don't follow any crowds. But I do class myself as a Robertson, that's my family name. "Glory is the reward of valour"  ( which means ~ great courage in the face of danger, especially in battle*)

30. I love ultra running, which means going beyond what others may perceive as normal but to me it is normal to eat fruit, run, read, write and make the life of others better for those around us.

31. I share all of this with you not to say look at me, but to say if you work on yourself you can have, be and do whatever you want to in life. You are more powerful than you think & can do a lot more than you can imagine.

32. You don't need a college degree or university degree to read books and get around people in the personal development business.

33. It's your choice to get healthier, be stronger, share and give more. We all become what we do in our spare time, now I can share with you all the things I done when I wasn't running.

34. I didn't do it for the medals, the prizes or to be part of something. I did it to set an example to my daughter and the world around me that personal freedom, health and happiness is on your own shoulders.

35. That's Buddhist teachings but I showed it in the western way, through all those miles, books and mountains I learned one thing that mattered most .. I couldn't of done it without you.

36. It was you people who accepted me, took me on, invited me places, let me into your life, it was you that made all of this happen. It's because of you that I am everything that I am today, the kind words, the messages, the support, the love in my community, my friends mums and dads going on their facebook to check my page.

37. I thought when I turned the camera around at first I could maybe get a few people to that peace Ajhan brahm made me feel when I watched him. I didn't expect to be on the 6'oclock news, papers, tv, magazines and everything else. That's all real and it's down to people giving me that, it's other people that helped me become this person I am today. Without your love .... I wouldn't be alive.

38. Nobody does it on there own, nobody does. It may look that way, but it's not. There's help everywhere and strangers do care, they love with all of their heart. The world is full of smart, funny, intelligent and happy people.

39. Never mistake your net worth for your self worth, your self worth is everything and that's why I say eat the apple, read the book, meditate, sleep well & always take time for you. Take yourself out for a meal sometimes, cuddle yourself and if it all goes wrong stick your fingers up to the world ... Place the fingers at each side of your mouth fist though and then push them up. Go on, smile :)

40. Thank you for being my friend, thank you for being in my life and I will continue to add value into every area for you. I just love what I'm doing and feel free to keep taking the positives from this ultra lifestyle.

Some things in life are bad, they can really make you sad, other things just make you sweat and curse, when your chewing on life's gristle don't grumble, give a whistle and this will help things turn out for the best. And always look on the bright side ..... Sing to & keep being you. Your beautiful, you are strong and you are smart just the way you are. And girls the world might tell you to look a certain way but don't listen, your perfect the way you are ... And guys, your the man!
