Maciek and Zoe at Newcastle's Globe - Entrepreneur Generations

Maciek Pysz Trio
The Maciek Pysz Trio is nearly half way through its 19-day UK tour and audiences from Cambridge to Cornwall have been stunned by the beauty and originality of the music. This is the very best contemporary acoustic jazz.

Maciek Pysz is an outstanding guitarist and composer: “the most melodic and innovative guitarists I’ve heard for many a year” says Lance Liddle of Bebop Spoken Here.  And the other members of the trio, Yuri Goloubev on double bass and Asaf Sirkis on drums, are also international musicians of the highest calibre.

Their appearance at the Globe on Saturday 21 November is a major coup for Jazz.Coop and we are hoping for a packed house. Tickets are £12 (and Jazz.Coop members can bring a guest for £7).

Doors open at 7.30pm and the music will start promptly at 8.15pm. You are advised to get there early.

Zoe Gilby's Stronger Jazz Voices
For the last 10 weeks Zoe Gilby, the girl from Cullercoats who grew up to be an international jazz star, has been running a course for experienced singers at the Globe.

Come and hear the aspiring jazz vocalists at their end of term gig on Thursday 19 November at the Globe. Singers include Ann Alexander,  Judith Carpenter, Teresa Driscoll, Jen Errington, Susan Hathaway, Oliver Morse, Susan Sanderson and Kris Yardborough.

There will also be a special performance by Zoe Gilby, accompanied by Alan Law (piano), Dave Parker (bass) and Michael Howard (drums).
