Most people don't change because they are conditioned not to, you might say that's not true ..... But you would have to be an idiot not to see that humans have certain patterns of behaviour to get the results they have in their life now. An apple doesn't fall to far from the tree as they say and from young kids watching tv the words and phrases can influence the subconscious of who they become later in life, that's also why most people in a tv culture can think the same but also the highest level of influence comes from our peers, parents, teachers and those we look up to early in life, who were your role models back then? What where you taught about Mondays? About food? About money? About work? What's the phrases that people said to you over and over again? Now think, how do you remember them? And Why? you don't have to like this comment or let anyone pay attention to it, just think for yourself now & think deeply.
You don't think deeply do you? You simply copy the results from your upbringing and bring them into your future life are from that learning behaviour is who you are now, once you become a mature adult then it's up to you how much you want to be like your past, upbringing, culture, food choice or how much you want to grow and create a new future by your own design .... Example having Christmas dinner every year the same way, or cooking cakes that make you fat and sick just because your family always cooked cakes isn't exactly creative thinking is it? Look at this one "I'm just going to have vegetables instead and fly abroad for a summer holiday in the winter as I don't follow the calendar anymore as one country's winter is another country's summer". Don't believe your conditioned? Then how would you reply if someone did that? Did your view of the world change, or would your view of them change just because someone didn't follow the calendar and rules you got told to follow? Look deeply into yourself and ask where does your thinking really come from & that's all. Is your thinking about things like food, money or even religion or calendar holidays identical to one or even a combination of both your parents? Is your view of the world the same as others around you? Do you believe that health, fitness and education are results or just chance? You can tell a lot about an adult by the last 10 books that they read and what shoes they wear outside of working hours as what's done from 5-9 is everything in a mature grown up. Ask around... & You'll be surprised.
Even people who go the opposite of their whole upbringing can sabotage their own success when it does come, because the motivation has came from rebellion and anger. Then once successful they find it hard to hold on to what they have built because they are so used to the conflict, having peace takes a lot of work after many years of others telling you about wars, politics and what else is going on in the outside world and views away from your inner peace. Only when you are deeply motivated to be peaceful and happy will life fit into place for you and what you have studied and worked hard towards will all come good. Not saying it's not good to be motivated by the rebellion at first as you will get the results, but know how to use it properly and then by coming from a deeper place inside of yourself with peace and by not doing things simply to prove to the world you are good enough you will keep the peaceful results over time and not lose them because you have to build on more in the future for who and what you love and let go of any other reasons.
So why do people change? Because it's human nature to progress and grow as people, but conditioned nature in modern times makes most people chose settling and comfort instead & this isn't wrong, (seeking security comes from insecurity but that's another thing altogether also) but if you are reading this then your not one of those people and you are attracted to something different. If you are reading then you will know that if you are not growing in life then you can't be happy because life is about growth and contribution. New experiences, meeting new people, (loving animals), going new places or even simply reading new books and relaxing at home feeding your mind. So how to change? It's really simple, and once you've done it once then you can do it however many times you like ..... Just don't ever change the reasons you started with or your value system .... The events, places, books and new experiences are all great but who you are doing it for and why, never change that and you will always win.
Everything stems from your blue print, your thought process and your subconscious all the way back from your tooth, yes everything you do is because of you (selfish? No you just do what you know & if you know more you do more). Look at a simple example, in modern Britain most people believe women are just with men for their money. That's false, girls who were brought up with mum saying go and ask dad for money for ice-cream, or dads the worker, dad has the money grow up as women to rely on a man for money because it's conditioned behaviour they don't grow out of. Using conditioned behaviour with the money subject is always easy for others to understand more simply as it seems everyone has emotion towards the subject of money that nobody seems to study outside of their upbringing. Same as food, religion, politics and so on, people only change on two subjects ... Wait for it... Drumroll .... Inspiration or desperation, that's it. If your not inspired or desperate for change then you won't change, that's why sitting on the couch is so appealing and why shouldn't it be? There's nothing inspirational on TV anyway and watching people worse off makes you feel the illusion of at least it's not that bad. Imagine they changed the TV show to "look who's happier with less than you have? And show families over the world singing and dancing when the rain comes down?" No, because if they showed that then they would lose the viewers, the TV is a great marketing tool, it usually keeps the same viewers all through life just like cigarettes and so on but once again that's all another topic. How much are you thinking now? It's good isn't it? Now quickly moving on and I'll explain how to change fast and get results with some help from books and study too.
So. The first element of change is awareness - you can't change something unless you know it exists.
The second element of change is understanding - By understanding where your "way of thinking" originates, you can recognise that it has come from outside of you.
The third element of change is disassociation - Once you realise this way of thinking isn't you, you can separate yourself from it and choose in the present to keep it or let it go - based on who you are today, and where you want to be tomorrow.
The fourth element of change is reconditioning - becoming all that you can possibly be in the path that you have chosen. Association, friends, role models, books, seminars, tapes, videos and all your own choices to progress & learn.
It's the seeds and fruits that come from the roots, what's under the ground creates what's above the ground. Your inner world creates your outer world, if you want to change the fruits, you will have to change the roots. If you want to change the visible, you must first change the invisible.
If you want to move to a higher level of your life, you have to be willing to let go of some of your old ways of thinking & being and adopt new ways. The results will eventually speak for themselves.
