You would have to be crazy to think running is my passion. I just really mind my own business and enjoy life. I'll use an example of a company I don't like called McDonald's but you need to applaud mindset, Ray Kroc asked people do they he know who he was and they all replied "the burger guy, McDonald's" he replied no, because nobody ever looks deeper. Roy Kroc wanted to get into property as that was his passion, not food. Everyone knows McDonald's but in his mindset and blue print he owns property on all the major highways around the world and has more real estate than the Catholic Church in the process. I don't believe anyone on earth gets rewarded on the outside, everything starts with intention. I'm using this as example as you know I'm vegan, love positive psychology, health and recovery & lifestyle change.
Running is just something I do, and I'm just back from running with Danny. Yesterday I ran with Iain and the day before Jay. I'm always in touch with Dave and Wallace too. They all run, the smartest thinker is the one with not the best running results my mate Wallace, he just knows how to get the best out of someone but has good results, I'm thinking things have changed since he's back out with a plan to go back and take the marathon with a nice time in mind. I met Wallace when he came to the half marathon I'm Glasgow with my primary school friend who was with me when my when I ran the first marathon a long time ago now. The half I wore a Spider-Man suit and just waved at the crowd but Wallace was looking at my feet added with my story and a deeper reason to why I was running. Long story short Wallace heard it all and we made a great friendship from that day knowing about each other, I don't talk about others much as they don't do things for recognition but people see me running and looking back he's the brains behind the running results and getting the best out of someone, it was and never has been about running to me.
He won't ever get that recognition because he's just a genius with numbers and that's his career, but makes a great running coach to others in his time outside of that to others, with me it was just friendship and if you've ever seen the film happy Gilmore, the just imagine Wallace being the black guy who lost his hand to crocodile and me being happy. When it comes to being bold and out there then that's really what I do, but with all the experience now come back and just simply enjoy life. Once again we are who we hang out with, the others know how to train, run fast and we talk about all of life. I laugh with Iain as he's from the same party life I was once in and with the others they are all clocks, times, pace and running which I love because I appreciate them. With other runners I get bored of running talk easily, it's never been my thing, if you read Ronnie Osullivans book on running (snooker champion) he sums up the sport well, people only talk running and nothing else, they don't see anything else do when people were looking at me like that I thought that's crazy, I don't think to much about that.
It's great to have a variety around you knowing deeply what all the intentions are from the start. You can't pick your family, but you can choose your friends, partners and lifestyle and all of the life results are based on those choices. The McDonald's guy didn't plan on feeding people burgers, his passion was real estate. I didn't plan on getting people to run, my passion was positive psychology and life change. The results are based on intention. You want the best runner in Scotland, well it's not me and never will be. You want the best burger then it's not McDonald's, and never will be.
All humans are a result of their blue print, I was giving away everything running while I went for my passion of freedom, health and living a good life. I'm not into property and I'm not selling anything, I simply mind my own business and live a good life. I'm grateful so many people have connected to me and I'm forever blessed to still have the opportunity to add some value into your life. If you want to be an athlete, then get a coach on that. That's not my passion and it's not my business, that's why I can share it all so openly.
Some people chase security and validation, while I enjoy the uncertainties of the sea driving my own freedom ship wherever I please without hurting anyone or anything else. Reading, writing, running, taking pictures, meditating, eating fruit and spending time with those I love. My intention was the same now as it was in 1985-1995-2005 = Freedom.
