Running with Danny - Entrepreneur Generations

Running in the dark at 6am with my friend Danny, as we head through maryhill road. Into the city centre of Glasgow and over the bridge at the River Clyde we talk about so many things, about our life, goals, what we want and where we are going next in life. The great thing about high mileage running is that it's a lifestyle, it's a way of life so to say we just ran 20 miles for fun when we are not training for anything and just do it because we like it might seem different from what our culture does but running and eating healthy food is great. Especially looking back to a few years ago when I'm 21 stone in weight with a football top and beer in hand on a Saturday and Danny followed the same team back then and we know the same people from growing up.

Looking over life I'm always grateful for everything, every experience and every person I've met as it's all been preparation for this level of living that we experience now. Danny told me about the news, about what other people are talking now and what the prime minister was saying as he keeps on top of these things, and we also laugh about the times when we followed football and used to be into these sort of political things. It's nice to listen to all the viewpoints though but I believe in self reliance and if people follow a crowd, group, community or country then that's their own choice.  I believe in personal power, strength and the opportunity to live life on our own terms doing all we possibly can to progress and grow but everything is relevant to work that out for ourselves and how to live life in today's free times. For me I practice  mindfulness, eat the apple, drink water and love animals, they don't show what happens in slaughterhouses on the breaking news everyday so if it's not showing the whole truth then why listen to any of it?  It's all down to perception though and a time long ago I used to wake up and watch the TV and fill my mind with the wars, muggings and looking to what football player fell out a nightclub or who won this weeks scratch card and lost it 5 weeks later and who's got a sale on. I'm all for public television for people to have some information, it's information not the whole truth or real life, real life is outside every moment.  People do tell you what you should think a lot just because they think it's right but I believe when everybody thinks the same then nobody is thinking at all!

I guard my mind and focus completely on what's important, stay away from the status quo, smile and enjoy life. I believe when you are not angry then the anger of others can never get to you, focus on your own path and the fear can't enter your mind either because if you are focused on the love in your life you are always on your way forward instead of in your way.  I will explain this more simpler ... Our mind and what we feed it with is who we are, the mind is everything and what you think you become. (My friends always help me think outside of daily mindfulness that help my creative writing)

As we laugh more and talk about more important things in our life rather than world news and public opinion rather than the real examples. We reach into pollock park on our run and the sun comes up on a clear blue sky. The stars you can see so clearly and it's beautiful, there's highland cows in that park too. Danny looks up to the sky and says this is brilliant ... I say to Danny our minds are like this clear blue sky Danny with no clouds. Think of the TV and everyone else's opinion you just told me are like these clouds and it's up to us to decide what we want to cloud our own minds with, there's so much out there and if you add too many clouds from other people then we would never see the stars or the sun come up the way we do now. People create their own life based on what they choose to fill their own mind with, and that's why I don't pay much mindful attention to what everyone is saying about country wars and prices.  I only study people with results now, everyone tries to cloud you with products and information but what does it mean without results?  By focusing on ourselves more deeply like this clear blue sky above, the sunrise, the deeper communications with friends and what we fill our mind with then that's how we grow as people. Others used to ask me silly questions like why do I not eat animals, where do I get protein, why do I wake up at 4am, why do I not drink alcohol and they all asked me not because they wanted to understand me, they asked me because they couldn't understand themselves because they have to many clouds and miss the sunrise. My message is simple to the world, I believe you can be healthy and free and you take care of you for you and I'll take care of me for me and let's enjoy life. Life is very simple and I believe we should all live life in clear focus of what's important, who we can help, who we can give back to, what we eat, to what we read and see from personal experience what's bad for us and then stay away from it & expand on all the happiness, the good and the love we can give but that's just what I do and that's why me and my mates will run 20 miles without training for anything.

We run to to communicate, share our passion, to share our experience, our results, our freedom, to question the status quo and feel good by being fit, healthy and strong. Danny isn't vegan, none of my friends are but they all enjoy plant based smoothies and the laughter we share about our past mistakes and failures that led us all to the ultra life. Running 100 miles is something I think every runner should do one time, it strips you bare to what's really important in life, to what matters and why we do it. It was never about the competition for me, it was everything about the freedom and achieving your goals is one thing but to do them against all odds is another. I believe if we eat the right foods, feed our mind and have the correct people and passions in our life along with deep reasons to contribute then we can have, be and do whatever we want with our life.

Have a phenomenal Saturday and make the rest of your life the best of your life.
