2. I tried to open up and write more deeply back in those times which didn't go down too well, especially when all my mates wanted to do was drink beer, talk about football or do things people under 30 do, so I logged off & headed for the hills, lochs, waterfalls and a meditation journey on foot, chose google plus, YouTube, blogger and Twitter to do all that I do now and share my life with new connections. Always a method!
3. Facebook (Zuckerberg and team, every business is always about the team, never the person). They noticed this and the attention Google. Twitter and even YouTube where getting now and this could be mirrored onto their Facebook.
4. Facebook is now a full global tool for everyone to reach out and connect with others on a similar journey, to share ideas, information, examples, education and so on depending on why you use it. I've had so many nails over the years but I've also mailed so many other people too and I've noticed when people are passionate about something then you create friendship and connections for life.
5. There's a few billion people on Facebook now & it's the largest in social media. I'll use some examples of its competitors ... Instagram noticed people take selfies but don't like sharing them with all of there friends list, so created a new site for photos and hashtags only and this made people spread and then snapchat wanted to steel both of the customers they have in order to create a more dating site style and personal approach and became a billionaire company. People believe they were being different but the reality is they followed the same here to another site ..... I don't use instigram or snapchat, but looked at them and applaud the work but for me personally and the people I connect with online it's about being respect rather than just liked. Being liked is what "the herd" and what the heard chase. You may also notice if I get to many likes online I automatically change what I'm doing ~ YES, I stay away from the crowded opinion of others at all costs! (That's the fun part).
6. I will use Pablo Picasso again, good artists copy but great artists steel. Great artists steel in a way by taking what's there and then making it better on their own terms and individuality involved. Know why you do what you do and then just go all in to create the best service or product to others. Even just be the best example of you and just work on yourself everyday and then that is what attracts other people into that lifestyle, business or event because that's what they do to. You take care of you for you and I'll take care of me for me, but let's share ideas!
7. People are attracted to people who are like them. Be yourself and design a good life, in person and online. Example ~ With ultra endurance sport at a competitive level people don't want 20 people to run with them, after so many events you try and hide away from that part and keep the whole sport personal (peace in solitude) ... Writers don't want to write in a nightclub of noise, and public speakers will spend hours of studying others, other examples, speakers and reading all about great things so in social media it has been amazing, with great benefits for people that don't follow crowds and want to create their own lifestyle. Personal computers were first advertised as a change of lifestyle and it never went down to well, it's amazing what time does .... Philosophy and meditation can also be shared and connected online, basically anything can. There's 7 billion people in the world, half are online and if you can't find any to connect with then go out and feed the ducks, you can always give!
8. Connections to just friends and family are easy now, you just phone them or go for a cup of tea. Online it's more about passion connecting, something we can all share that our parents, family and other friends don't want to listen to all day but they do over the phone or a cup of tea, I get the chance to listen a lot in person and deep listening is something I've practiced through meditation, listening to listen and not listen to reply, it's certainly an art form with practice!
9. Why are you online? What are you giving, sharing, showing and creating for others? How are you doing it? And why? Asking yourself questions is the way to have a deeper understanding of what you want now, in the future and what you can continue to give.
10. People I love online share my interests and passions in lifestyle, (there's a surprise, we seek to live people like us online) a lifestyle with change, psychology talk, the natural world, mindset focus, personal development, health, art, ultra running, endurance sport, plant based nutrition, meditation, philosophy and really just sport and passions with proven results from individual people.
11. I live in a city with football, alcohol, religion, politics, TV, keep up with the joneses, cooked food and fizzy juice trends. I don't belong with any of that stuff, so breaking the social trends was really easy for me! Connecting with like minded people online and new people in person has now changed every area of my life further forward and I am forever grateful for that, social media is another great tool we humans have ~ you know what they say about workmen!
12. I stay clear away from products, businesses, and examples of something without a face with results. Its amazing to still have old friends, school friends and even some ex girlfriends on Facebook who we can say hello to but I'm also sure some may have deleted me over the life change in the past few years, it's all relevant.
13. Me and old friends even laugh on the streets in Glasgow as we've hidden each other from the time line on social media. I simply don't look at drunks online, girls who show to much body with no mindset, people who upload football results, the weather or just some random news about some fight. Yes we all judge, that's what us humans do and out decisions of judgement determine our destiny ~ our judgement makes us who we are ... Doesn't it ☺️
14. I keep my news feed full of people I connect to, get inspired by, would do business with, share ideas with or just have closer connection with (And also to give back). It's about the mindful connection of sharing our passion, lifestyle and ideas.
15. With the vast amount of adverts, videos and news stories online today they can now take over the whole web site but creating it as the brand it is today, so it's all relevant. The more sponsors or news the more clouded something gets. The hide button instead of delete is always fair for that, on Twitter though it's just rapid response which is a great fast feed, but whatever the network you are on it means the person is always in charge of what they look at, who they connect too, why they do it and what results they get.
16. I linked up my blog to Twitter and Google, then just thought let's go to Facebook now too and more people connect through our lifestyle, ideas and passion, it's great, thank you. There's over 200 million people blogging too & it's something that will always be there, it's also amazing to just write and see a world of writers!
17. I've opened up all areas, talking in classrooms and at events. I never expected Glasgow to show anything vegan or plant based though, so talking at the SECC is a chance I jumped at, to connect with more people, learn more, do more and see more & asked if I would do both days of course it was a yes. It's also made me realise that even my hometown is starting to look into real health change and breaking the status quo of old times. #RealMenEatPlants 🍒
18. It's also made me fall in love with the whole city again, the diversity, the change and the people and it's made me also look into more ways to connect, to share and also for new people to bring into life for new ways to put things together. To create and always show a healthy, self reliant and productive way of life.
19. Share passions with results, ideas or information and people connect who are like you. I don't expect people to now fall out of a pub or football stadium and look at me online and say lets meet this guy and put an idea together I'm giving everything up to start meditating, eating fruit and running with nature.... Social media is for whatever reason we choose, individually!
20. I spent the first few years to show my example, the more I opened up the more people who are self reliant, and not the status quo connected to me and have game changing ideas and it's been amazing.
21. Eat the apple, drink the water, meditate, sleep well and in between all of that just do what you love. What you think about you bring about, so go out and make the rest of your life the best of your life #IdeaSharingSunday
