Jon Irabagon, George Colligan, Michael Janisch and Andrew Bain play Hull Jazz - Entrepreneur Generations

Big names at Hull Jazz this week! The Embodied Hope band with Jon Irabagon – tenor sax, George Colligan – piano, Michael Janisch – double bass, Andrew Bain – drums

Influenced by the Miles Davis Second Great Quintet, Coltrane’s Classic Quartet and the Brian Blade Fellowship, this UK/US supergroup will cover a breadth of music in a high energy, ultra-expressive show. Playing newly-penned originals by Scottish born drummer Andrew Bain, this group will explore the connectivity of the above groups, alongside the lyricism of the Fellowship’s music. With the virtuosity of American pianist George Colligan (long time member of Jack DeJohnette's trio) and the wild creativity of saxophonist Jon Irabagon (Thelonius Monk Competition winner), powered by the long-established bass/drum relationship of Michael Janisch and Andrew Bain, expect the unexpected, underpinned by a deep sense of rhythm and groove.
