We’ve got eight lovely gigs we've arranged for you this July and more in August too!. We've a fantastic evening concert with Saxman Greg Abate - on a FRIDAY this month - Friday 21 July. We've also got award winning young drummer Corrie Dick's with a wonderful trio "Little Lions", jazz funk US guitarist BD Lenz with his trio, vibesman John Settle's "Vibeology" not to mention two jazz cafe jam sessions, a Jazz Divas concert at Inkwell and a very special 10th birthday Rush Hour Jazz at Seven Arts. Summer Jazz Cafe and Jam Session 
Always a special event our Summer Jazz Cafe. The Jazz Voices Choir have been working hard on four pieces of music - they'll be performing them at 3pm led by Nicki Allen. The Jazz Workshop will be performing the music they've been working on with Dom Moore and Tom Sharp. We welcome Ed Barnwell for the first time on piano too. @Inkwell Sun 2 July 1.30-4pm  £7/5 £5 including performers. Kids under 16 free

Corrie Dick's Little Lions 
Matt Robinson - Piano Joe Webb - Organ Corrie Dick - Drums A dynamic and ever innovating presence on the UK jazz scene, Glaswegian Corrie Dick is a musician recognised for his fluency, touch and abandon on the drum kit. His band “Impossible Things 'played for us memorably in the autumn. Little Lions' is his instrumental trio whose sound is characterised by warm, euphoric timbres as well as engaging good humour.  @even Arts Sun July 9 at 1.30-4pm £10/8 (NUS £5)

John Settle’s Vibe-ology
John Settle on vibes, Al Morrison on guitar, Bob Birch on Hammond organ and Joe England on drums. Jazz, blues, funk and Latin paying homage to  Milt Jackson, Wes Montgomery, John Patton, Bobby Hutcherson, Jimmy Smith, George Benson.@Inkwell Sunday afternoon 16 July @Inkwell Arts 1.30-4pm start £9/7 (NUS £5) 

US saxman Greg Abate 
Greg Abate is a US jazz saxophonist, flutist, composer and international jazz recording artist. In the mid 70’s after finishing a four year program at Berklee College Of Music, Greg played lead alto for the Ray Charles Orchestra and tenor sax with the revived Artie Shaw Orchestra under leadership of Dick Johnson in 1986 and ’87. The swinging trio in support is led by top Spanish (and ex Leeds) jazz musician Victor Gutierrez with Angus Milne bass and Steve Hanley drums. Support band is Anya – an eight piece Ethio Jazz ensemble led by Leeds bassist Sam Dutton Taylor. @Seven Arts FRIDAY evening July 21 @Seven Arts Doors 7.30pm £16/14 (NUS £5)

US guitarist BD Lenz Trio
B.D Lenz guitar, James Rosocha- bass, Joe Falcey – drums A welcome to Seven Jazz  return for US guitarist B D Lenz. Mix together the styles of Pat Metheny, Mike Stern, and Stevie Ray Vaughan and you have the recipe for contempo-jazz guitarist B.D. Rush Hour Jazz -Emily Brown
It's Seven Arts 10th birthday celebration so what better way to help everyone celebrate than to have Otley doctor and jazz singer Em Brown entertain us with some powerful energetic jazz vocals. Rush hour jazz is on a different night this month - Friday 7th July - and a slightly later time @Seven Arts 31 Harrogate Road, Chapel Allerton, Leeds LS7 3PD. Friday 7 July 6.30-7.30pm. payf collection

Jazz Jam-borees
No jazz workshops or choirs until the autumn now but there is a chance for you to sing and play at our Jazz Jamborees. The first set will be the band, then followed by a jam session. Do come and join in or just watch the fun!

JazzLeeds Festival17 featuring Snake Davis Band Thursday 3 August Millennium Square/Carriageworks
For the first time this year Seven Jazz are organising a Festival Day of Jazz as part of the Leeds Summer Music Festival. There will be free concerts in Millennium Square at lunchtime (12-2pm and 5-8pm), a jazz workshop in the afternoon in the Carriageworks ("How To Learn Jazz: A Beginners Guide" with Dom Moore 2-4pm) with The Big Easy, Hyde Park Brass, Slide Area Open Letter to Mingus and Tom Sharp Big Band. The headline band is Leeds supersax star Snake Davis in concert in the Carriageworks 8pm.
