Tango & Jazz Quartet Sunday 27 August,
From Newcastle Jazz Co-opOver the summer we have visits from two bands from Argentina. On Sunday 27 August Tango & Jazz Quartet returns to the Globe for an afternoon and evening of music and dancing. We have a host of local talent including Steve Glendinning Trio, Alter Ego, Francis Tulip Quartet, Stuart Collingwood Duo and Indigo Jazz Voices. Finally, for those who would like to participate in our jazz learning programmes, we are taking bookings for our summer weekend workshop on 5-6 August.

A whole weekend of listening and playing in the company of others who want to learn and improve jazz skills.
Building on the success of the last two years, we are running another weekend workshop, this time with tutors James Birkett and Jilly Jarman. James Birkett is a professional jazz guitarist and highly experienced educator.
Francis Tulip Quartet
Saturday 5 August, 8pm Young jazzers acknowledge old master
The Francis Tulip Quartet presents "Monk's Mood", an evening celebrating the music of Thelonius Monk. Come and see these young musicians paying tribute to the old master as well as premiering some original compositions. After a very popular event last year, Jazz.Coop is delighted to welcome the Tango & Jazz Quartet back to The Globe for a special day of Argentinian music and dancing. For dancers, there will be an afternoon milonga at 3-6pm
