Malija, Gary Boyle and and more at JazzLeeds - Entrepreneur Generations

We hope you are enjoying our spring programme. We've certainly had a lot of fun choosing it! We're especially pleased to welcome back Malija on this Thursday 8 February to Seven Arts, Chapel Allerton in Leeds.

"Malija"  Mark Lockheart: sax, Liam Noble: piano, Jasper Hoiby: bass @Seven Arts Thus 8th Feb, 8pm

A sophisticated trio that crosses and draws on several musical genres, Malija will include material from their highly-rated 2017 album "Instinct". The three members of the band are some of Europe's top-rated musicians, with their music described as "folksy, melodically strong chamber music, with flavours ranging from bluegrass to tango to contemporary classical ...". It's all delivered with flair and playful abandonment. Here’s a little teaser video from their new album: youtu.be/IKEGGmh0HxA and a whole tune youtu.be/gp59f7O5Uuo. Support is from: Ricardo Alvarez Quartet 8-8.30pm Ricardo Alvarez Quartet playing from their new album ‘Huay Not?’ Ricardo Alvarez on tenor saxophone/compositions, Cornelius Corkery on guitar, Emlyn Vaughn on bass and Joe Montague on drums.
