The Blue Three 17 March
March at the Spa 2018
3rd – T J Johnson – really needs no introduction – it’s a class act from one of the UK’s finest jazz and blues singers. He’s an accomplished pianist and a true ambassador for many musical styles ranging over jazz, blues, soul, country and gospel. Don’t miss this one! £10.
10th – Dave Mott’s Jazz Classics – always a superb performance by this highly talented and versatile group led by Dave on reeds and including young trumpet star Jamie Brownfield and the superb Tom Kincaid on piano. Traditional jazz plus the standards coupled with vocals from Suzanne.
17th – Keith Nichols + John Hallam + Graham Smith – the Blue Three – now here’s a first appearance for JITS which we are more than proud to present. Keith Nichols – one of the UK’s most respected jazz musicians and pianist extraordinaire - joins forces with our favourite reeds player John Hallam to provide an evening of outstanding classic jazz. We guarantee you will be bowled over by this session. £10
24th Kevin Grenfall’s Jazz Giants with John Hallam – led by the irrepressible Kevin on trombone and ably supported our star reeds player John Hallam and Danny Hammerton on trumpet. Then add a first class rhythm section with Phil Nice from Denmark on piano to complete this impressive line up.
31st – Savannah Jazz Band – our local heroes return once more to one of their favourite venues. Traditional jazz at its best with some rollickin’ rhythm and blues thrown in for good measure. Always a classic JITS evening with humour in abundance.
Thanks for your support – it’s what keeps music live. Spread the word – it is live, fun and friendly – no better way to spend Saturday evening.
