2      Dave Clegg & Friends The seven piece with a big band sound playing Dave’s arrangements of tunes from Count Basie, Buddy Rich and other big band classics along with modern jazz standards, with Gracie Falls on vocals. £5
9      Will Howard Quintet Saxophonist Will Howard, one of newer regular guests known for his melodic inventiveness, this time brings his own band playing compositions inspired by the great bebop composers Charlie Parker, Clifford Brown, Tadd Dameron and Sonny Rollins, featuring Will (tenor sax), Will Blackstone  (trumpet), Fergus Vickers (guitar) James Banner (bass) and Jordan Dinsdale (drums). £6
16     Martin Jones Martin Jones is one of the finest trumpeters in the region and is also a very talented singer.  His programme of mainstream/modern        jazz is always varied and accessible for audiences.  With Mike   Gordon Trio.  £5
23    Zoe Gilby’s Pannonica Zoe performs lyrical interpretations of the quirky but attractive  compositions of legendary pianist/composer Thelonious Monk. Inspired by Carmen McRae’s album “Carmen Sings Monk”, with lyrics by Jon Hendricks, Abbey Lincoln and others, this is a compelling tribute sensitively performed by Paul Edis (piano), Andy Champion (bass) and Richard Brown (drums)  £7
30    Joel Purnell Since emerging onto the British jazz scene in the late ‘90s saxophonist Joel has established a formidable reputation. ‘This is how the contemporary tenor ought to sound’ (Jazz UK). With MG3 (Graham Pinkney keys). £5

6      AC3 Back in action after a break (Tom’s arm), AC3 translate their shared love of jazz, funk, gospel and world music into irresistible foot-tapping rhythms and engaging melodies. Adam Carpenter (keyboards), Tom Townsend (drums) and Rowan Oliver (bass) play Adam’s original material.  £5
13     Stony Jazz Five of the best known musicians on the Scarborough scene come together to create an infectious good time blend of  swing, jazz and Latin. Great vocals from Rich Adams front a line-up of Dave Kemp (sax), Mark Gordon (keyboards), Bob Walker (bass) and Tom Townsend (drums).  £5
20    Gordon Vernick Respected the world over as a high calibre trumpet player, music educator and radio broadcaster this is Gordon’s second UK tour at the invite of Wigan Jazz Club and Youth Jazz Orchestra. Gordon has performed with such jazz stars as Kenny Werner, Marc Copland, Clare Fischer and Randy Brecker. Gordon’s style is very much in the be-bop tradition, accompanied on this tour by Martín Longhawn (piano), John Marley (bass) and Tim Carter (drums).  £8
27    Ian Chalk + MG3 Often in a supporting role, tonight it’s a chance for one of our region’s leading musicians to take the solo spot and treat us to his mellow trumpet tone and sensitive improvisations. With MG3. £5

4      Jazz Aesthetic Jazz Aesthetic return to Scarborough Jazz, bringing their usual blend of contemporary jazz and hard swinging bop. Since its formation in 2009 the band have played around the region, giving music students from the University of Hull a platform to showcase their talents. Expect lots of Art Blakey-inspired grooves from this band, as they explore the hard bop repertoire. £5
11     Players’ night Another opportunity for members of our audience who play an instrument or sing to come on stage and perform a couple of numbers. £5
18     Christmas Party with Seven Pieces of Silver This year’s Christmas Party will be accompanied in style by 7 Pieces Of Silver performing the music at the late great Horace Silver.  It’s a great line-up with leader and bassist Paul Baxter, James Lancaster trumpet, Stuart MacDonald alto and baritone sax, Kyran Matthews tenor sax, Matt Ball trombone and Andrzej Baranek keys. There will be food and lots of fun. £7
