Our Jazz leeds autumn programme starts this Sunday at Seven Arts!

Ancient Infinity Orchestra at Seven Arts Sunday 8 Sept 1.30pm
Cosmic ambient devotional jazz channelling the spirits of Pharoah Sanders and Alice Coltrane, infused with a unique earthy archaic vibration from this popular Leeds band. Ozzy Moysey – Bass, Elliot Roffe – Bass, Joe Love – Drums, Evan Davies – Violin, James Milligan – Guitar, Matt Cliffe – Alto Saxophone, Flute, Andy French – Tenor Saxophone, Joel Stedman – Bass Clarinet, Flute, Congas, Giorgos Kravvaritis – Piano

Kate Peters Quintet at Bar on Park Lane Roundhay Friday 13 September 8pm
The first of our Women in Jazz perfomances sees the popular Kate Peters appearing at our Bar in Park Lane venue.Kate is a uniquely talented and versatile vocalist based in Leeds, but making her name as one of the most exciting new performers to come out of the UK. A graduate of Leeds College of Music, Kate has worked in a wide variety of styles and areas of the music industry.For this Bar on Park Lane performance, Kate and her swinging quintet, featuring guitarist Rich Jevons, pianist Martin Longhawn Rob Barron and bassist John Marley, will present an evening of their favourite standards.

Asha Parkinson's "Kalpadruma" at Inkwell Sunday 15 September 1.30pm
In the second of our "Women in Jazz" perfomances – twice BBC Young Jazz Award semi-finalist  Asha Parkinson has been performing professionally with bands since the age of 11. She won a scholarship to the Purcell School and currently studies jazz sax and composition at The Guildhall. Her new ensemble, Kalpadruma explore a global feast of connections between jazz, Turkish, Arabic, Contemporary Classical and Indian music.Asha Parkinson – sax, Charlie Heywood – guitar, Reuben Goldmark – piano, Joe Parks – percussion and Harry Pearce – bass

Jade America Harris sings Rush Hour Jazz at Seven Arts 18 Sept 6pm
Jade is a jazz singer from Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, England. She performs with musicians across the North, singing jazz, blues, soul and funk. With the Jazz Leeds trio 6-7pm at Seven Arts Leeds – payf collection

Acoustic Basie Big Band at Seven Arts 29 September  1.30pm
There's no jazz on 22nd September due to the Scarborough Jazz Festival (we'll all be there..!) but we'll be back for this event taking place the following week during the World On Our Doorstep weekend in Chapel Allerton. Suit up, grab a drink and enjoy a nostalgic afternoon of Count Basie’s Big Band repertoire! The band - Trumpets: Ciarán Diston, Tom Hill, Tom Sharp, Toby Brazier Trombones: Danny Barley, George Murray, Charlie Knighton, Patrick Martin (Bass) Saxes: James Boyes (Alto/Flute), Anna Chandler (Alto), Daniel Brunskill (Tenor), Rose Sharp (Tenor), Jasmine Whalley (Bari) Rhythm: Joshua Smout (Drums), Fergus Quill (Bass), Conall Mulvenna (Guitar), Joe Boyes (Piano).
