19th October – Temperance Seven
From Les and the team

Saturdays in October 2019
12th – Hamish McGregor plays Ball, Barber and Bilk – the name is the giveaway! This is a highly recommended group from Scotland re-creating the wonderful sounds from the 50s and 60s. The programme recalls all the hit tunes from your favourite bands of the era. Yes – it’s pure nostalgis – and none the worse for that!
19th – Temperance Seven - and a welcome return by another special group founded in the 1950s. The band specialises in the music of the 20s, 30s and 40s though with a tongue in cheek slant throughout! You’ll recall the famous numbers – “You’re driving me crazy” and “Pasadena”. Do come along and bring your friends for a fun evening and to rekindle old memories.
26th – Amy Roberts + Richard Exall – and to end a month of memorable sounds, something a little different as Amy and Richard – both former members of the Chris Barber Band – demonstate their formidable talents as they take on “the standards” on a range of

November 2019
2nd – T J Johnson – one of the highlights of the year. T J needs no introduction – he is renowned as one of the UK’s finest jazz and blues singers. An accomplished pianist and a true ambassador for many musical styles ranging over jazz, blues, soul, country and gospel. Something here for everyone. https://ift.tt/352OSJo
16th – Charity Evening in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society with the Carl Sinclair Boogie Band + John Hallam – this is proving to be quite a month! Another of the highlights of the year which is guaranteed to have everyone in the Hall singing, swaying and tapping their feet. Jazz, blues, boogie woogie and much more with Carl on the keyboard and John Hallam in uncharacteristically riotous form on the tenor. Sheer effervescent entertainment. And this time for a much deserved Charitable cause. Please support.
30th - River City Jazz Band – now here’s a blast from the past. An excellent traditional jazz band from the North East which disbanded for a period due to the incapacity of the leader. Happily, it has now reformed under that leader, trombonist Gordon Solomon plus trumpeter, Bob Wade and Steve Andrews on reeds. Then add Keith Stephen on guitar. First class musicians all – so an excellent session in on the cards.

Thanks for your support – it’s what keeps music live!
Spread the word – JITS is live, fun and friendly – no better way to spend Saturday evening.
Please take your empty bottles home – we have no recycling facilities at the Village
