From noon to 12:30 p.m. ET on Dec. 15, 16 and 17, Google News Labs' Maggie Farley will present free webinars on how journalists can use Google's new tools to cover the environment and other beats. Participants can learn to use the tools to find and analyze data, then use clear, powerful data visualization tools to tell stories. For instance, Google Pinpoint can help you instantly find connections among documents, and Google Earth and other tools can create historical time lapses to show environmental change over time.
The Society for Environmental Journalists and the Earth Institute of Columbia University's Resilience Media Project are sponsoring the webinars. To participate, sign up first for the free Google tools that will be demonstrated: Google Pinpoint and Google Flourish.
