The Agriculture Department 's Rural Development has launched a resource guide meant to help rural community leaders, lawmakers and business owners train, recruit and expand the rural workforce. The guide outlines grant and loan programs and services available through USDA and other federal agencies for creating jobs, training workers, expanding educational opportunities, and providing technical assistance. It also has examples of how organizations and communities have used such programs locally.
The programs are organized by four assistance types: workforce development planning; infrastructure and equipment financing; industry and employer engagement, entrepreneurship and local business development; and education, training and apprenticeship. Click here to access the guide.
